From Now Onwards

I was just reading through Exodus, and came upon the part where the Israelites were treated harshly because Moses and Aaron went to see the pharaoh to request that Israelites be freed to worship God. It reminded me of my own journey of faith.

You see, Israelites cried out to God to help them when they were being oppressed by the pharaoh; similarly don't we cry out to God when we face difficulties in our lives? But, as God was in the process of delivering the Israelites from the pharaoh, they actually got into worse situations and they complained although they knew that God was working, showing signs and miracles. When we cry out to God, sometimes don't we feel that God has not heard and our situation is worse?

But have faith. Even when we don't see the hope in our human eyes, we can have faith in God. Our hope is in God, thus we can walk in faith now with God. Remember Moses's famous line? "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today...The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still" (Exodus 14:13-14)

Here is God's reply.
"Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff..." (Exodus 14:15-18).
Sometimes God has instructed you, you just need to raise the staff that He has given you, and walk. He will do the rest and part the sea for you.

Don't you sometimes feel your life is so small and so insignificant? Yes, that feeling is real because as God's children, you have the eternal hope. You are supposed to be something great - salt of the earth and light of the world. We want to find what is God's will for me, but we refuse to seek His will. We will only truly discover God's will for us within His will for the whole of creation - for us to be connected back to Him, each and everyone of us.

We are part of His story. Are you ready to let go of your insecurities and fears and accept this overwhelming love from the Creator of this universe?
