It is not just Monday Blue, but Malaysian Black.
Was feeling quite sick, but still decided to finish waiting for the election result to come out. And, yes, I am disappointed. I am disappointed that all the online supports did not translate into a PR majority. Then, a post on Facebook actually reminded me, that all my friends - they are actually from a small circle of population. I have been to villages and towns in Sarawak that do not have internet, maybe not even a cybercafe in the place. They are kept technologically backwards, so have no idea of what is happening in the national scale. Their life is much the same as you and I, trying to make a living, just much much harder under the sun - planting crops that are subjected to price fluctuations, as they pay more and more for the tax and services that everyone should have.
Then there are so much allegations of tricks and 'magic blackout' that helped BN to win. But, have you actually considered the many already biased policies in place? The sizes of population in constituency are greatly different - consider Putrajaya and Seputeh. And, there are many places where the people prefer a more conservative approach - these who don't have the internet media at their disposal. All this not counting in those who have vested interest - gamblers who gamble for BN to win, cronies who have everything to gain by BN win, taukes and tycoons who have business with BN politicians. So, discern the claims, check the news - I am currently compiling the voting statistics to see if the claims are indeed true that there are so many rejected votes (more than majority vote), if there are more votes than registered voters, and so on. That is the least I can do. And you can too.
It is a reminder, of why I choose to go back at the end of my visa. No hope liao, that's what people say. But, what is hope if you are not an agent of hope? What is faith without action?
I place my action in my faith. I thank God for showing me a path that is not fuelled by vengeance and emotions but a path that stems from love of His people.
