I heard from radio news this morning that the government is going to develop in vocational education. This is a good way of helping those students whose main strength is not in conventional education of academic studies. Certainly this will provide a better outcome than just going straight into the job market without any basic skill training.
The society in Malaysia has to stop viewing skill-based professions as lower grade jobs, this is because these jobs are also needed for the proper functioning of the nation as a whole. We need both skill- and research-based jobs.
