This morning I went to Northbridge with my housemate for a brunch. And after we parked the car, we walked past this boulevard that is so nice and shady! Why Australian streets can't be shadier (if there is such a word for the comparative of shade)?
We went to Tak Chee House, and they serve quite authentic Penang food! Much better than the restaurant with Penang name in it...duh...Tak Chee is located opposite Viet Hoa, near Esther's Bakery.
I ordered Fried Kuey Tiaw ($10 and loaded with clams) (Medium) and it is quite spicy but I enjoyed it. The other dish we ordered is Pan Fried Garlic Chicken Rice; it is crispy and very fragrant. They also have special dishes: Penang Assam Laksa for weekends, Bak Kut Teh on Wednesday (I think), and ...eh...forgot the other dish...
I would give it a nice 8 out of 10 for my first experience.
