A Night Prayer

Leaning on the window frame
I closed my eyes
Cool breeze calmed my mind
And I was laid in rest
In a world so still
As still as the slept city

Father in heaven
Let me come to You
And sit next to You
Be embraced by Your love
And held by Your hands

Visions are limited
We can't escape from life
But I am sure
There will be a place for me
A place for great service

You are my trustworthy friend
My comfort when I am sad
My strength when I am weak

You take care of me
As surely as the stars pass by
The blue night sky
