Curitiba

Curitiba, a fine example of successful urban planning. There is no chaotic squatter houses and the public transportation is planned properly.

The mayor of Curitiba, Jaime Lerner said, "The main purpose of development should be quality of life for the large majority of people. If you don't have a generous view of cities, then you don't have a generous view of people." (In Design Like You Give a Damn)

It has so many parks although it is populated by around 1.75 million people, the largest population in southern Brazil.
