I was reading a passage about biological clocks in organisms during IELTS test, and one of the questions remaining to be solved is "why organisms even bother to link their biological clock with the sun?". I pondered. And then, I was reminded of Genesis, sun is created to set times. Well, there is my answer: God created the organisms to follow the sun's times.
Then I read about rare insect fossil that shows no evolutionary changes from apparently 100 million years ago till now. Evolution doesn't work? My brothers and sisters in Christ, Christianity is anti-science. Or, is it?
Do you realise there are two streams of science? One of the operational sciences, those where there are direct experimental data such as Physics, Biology, and Chemistry; and one of the historical sciences, those where data are from the past, such as evolution (in this writing I mean the evolution from non-living molecules to us) and palaeontology.
The more I studied about the world, the more I realised how impossible it is for us to appear because of millions of years of random chances, which is taught in schools.
Firstly, life-forming proteins cannot exist for a long time in watery conditions as water will break down proteins. Secondly, the chirality of biological molecules. They have to be formed in accordance to its arrangement that select only one spin. Thirdly, we cannot observe non-living molecules give rise to living organisms. Fourthly, information is only lost but not added through natural selection. (Taken from Creation.com)
Maybe we didn't even think about whether the Bible we believe in says about evolution, because we just assumed evolution is right as schools taught about it and media presented it as true. But, look at the following points:
1. Death entered the world AFTER Adam and Eve sinned. Evolution says death is there BEFORE sin in order to have the first humans.
2. Earth is created BEFORE sun. Evolution says Earth is formed AFTER sun.
3. Living organisms are created in their own kind. Evolution says living organisms come from molecules that formed the first cell.
Jesus himself takes on a literal creation worldview, when he taught about marriage in Mark 10.
God put Genesis in the Bible so we know where we come from. It is not meant to be some myth or legend. Through Genesis, we know humans are created in the image of God, thus we are not to abuse fellow humans. Through Genesis, we know humans are given the responsibility to take care of the environment, and use the resources responsibly, thus we are not to abuse the environment and the rest of God's creation.
