Darkness in Life

How many people call themselves Christians when they continue to exploit others?
How many people call themselves sons and daughters of God when they continue to ignore others' needs?
How many people call themselves Jesus's friend when they continue to be self-centred?

The harvest is ready, but workers are few.

Being a Christian, I understand that I am under constant scrutiny from others around me. I understand that I am to portray the image of God I believe in. I am not perfect, as a human will not be perfect until God perfected us in eternity. I am just trying to do the best I can, and yet there are ways people can discourage me by exploiting the kindness that a Christian should have, isn't it? No wonder Paul wrote that he thinks of himself as fool for Christ, for Godly wisdom is so much more worthy than our own wisdom.

While I am writing this, I read a lot of other articles on Christians exploiting others, even some on a website which aims to "de-convert Christians". Father, why we are so weak that we cannot even live out our faith? Where is our caring spirit that You have given us? My heart sank when I read about all the people who turned away as they thought they knew about Your grace through an imperfect person who failed to glorify Your name. Have I done that? Have I made people turn away from God because of my foolish actions? I couldn't bear thinking about that. It is such irony when people turn away because I failed them, when I try hard to be the light of the world with the Holy Spirit's help in me.

Father, let us glorify Your name, may Your kingdom arrives, let Your will be done; And You will take care of us, supply us daily, let us forgive others and You forgive us, help us not to fall into temptations and sins, and protect us with Your almighty strength. Your kingdom, power and glory are eternal.

May Your wisdom show us, humans do not exist because of chances, we do not make up a Creator God because we needed one, but we needed one because we used to know Him; However we have forgotten in our heads, but not in our hearts. Show the truth to us and open up our eyes to see it, for our desires and 'wisdom' have lead us to turn away from the truth. The truth doesn't cause war, our decisions to turn away from You cause war.

Father, I pray to You with my solemn heart; let me work in Your will to bring hope to every single day to the society where I live in. Love, not war. Amen.
