Love God. Love Neighbour

Matthew 22:37-40

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Jesus doesn't just proclaim salvation - the reason He is on Earth, He also cares for others - He is a humanitarian-minded person. He brings hope to people who wouldn't have hope, people who are dispised - the lepers, adulterer, tax collector etc, but He reached out to them. So we as Christians should certainly follow His example, and we should bring joy to people through hope - as Tony Campolo said "it's party time" when God is here.

The problem is do we love enough? Do we love those who have desperate needs? Do we provide for them? Believing is a life-time commitment, and we all need constant reminders like Tony's message - he is quite good and unconventional, gets the message across clearly.

What's the first love that I have that brought me to a relationship of Jesus? I think that would be the realisation that every moment / experience is under God's plan. So, now I don't need to depress over what should I do next, but rather let God handle it and I do what God asked me to do today.
