Chap Goh Meh

Chap Goh Meh is the fifteenth day of Chinese New Year celebration, called Yuan Xiao Jie in Mandarin pronunciation. Chap Goh Meh is what most Malaysian Chinese call the festival but it is actually in Hokkien dialect; Chap Goh meaning fifteen, and Meh meaning night.

Today, traditionally we will eat glutinuous rice ball, but for my family, we just have a big dinner with every relatives who are still around. This year, I am celebrating it by myself away from home, so I decided to cook some glutinuous rice ball =)
It is so different eating this in the summer, the feeling is just different as it is hot. I think there should be a cold version of it being made around here so we can enjoy it in summer (traditionally, it is eaten in winter-spring time - the northern hemisphere's lunar new year).

The sun sets so fast. It was orangey and not so bright so I opened my curtain, and just in less than 10 minutes the sun is gone and all that's left is the lonely sky with no stars shining on its gradient background. Are good times always short? Well, maybe to be able to live in this world we should not focus on the good times.

Yes, we do like to have good times in life; those times when we finished exams, graduated, found a work, family member's birthdays...etc. But life is just a mixture of good, not-good-not-bad average, and bad days. When we are having good times, enjoy them for they are the blessings, and don't forget to thank those who make them happen; at average days, just treasure those around you; and when it is bad, always remember through bad times one grows stronger.
