After a long day spent on flight, transit (KL), flight, transit (Kuching) and flight, finally I reach my home in Miri.
My luggage was among the first few to come out, so I just dragged it out of its comfy position from the carousel and headed towards the arrival gate. Just as I stepped out of the extremely-cold-air-conditioned terminal, warm air welcomed me back. However, I prefer the soft heat, as though it is filtered through layers of thick clouds and it is just right, not as sharply hot as those rays of Australian sun.
The air is familiar, still filled with moisture and lots of pollutants from all the cars parked and stalling along the departure and arrival lanes. Although the parking is chaotic, there exists some sort of order in the vehicular movement; although there is no traffic attendant, the vehicles organised themselves in an unspoken order. On my ride home, I saw this new shopping mall near my house, and it is just walking distance from my place!
I am glad to be back. And of course, I ate my first kolo mee in a whole year!!! Yum!
