新的一年 The Beginning of a New Year

It is 2011.

I think it is time that I settle down in my mind and actually think of what I should do for the rest of my life.

2010 is a good year, I met new friends, get crazy with my architecture classmates and started to join church activities again. It is sort of weird as I don't actually feel like I am graduating in February from my Bachelors, hah, maybe because I am set in my mind to study all 5 years before actually recognising myself as a graduate. Well, to sum up, in the first 3 years of architectural science course, I learnt to design, not just with ideas, but to make sure the buildings work properly, and I enjoyed the mixture of arts and sciences in the course.

2011. I am staying in a new place, pretty much settled down for now, and I certainly want to stay in this place for 2 years as packing up and unpacking is really tiring though I enjoy the re-decorating part. The view above is taken from the balcony of the apartment, a nice cozy 2-room apartment that I am sharing with another friend.

The temperature is high. I am sweating. My printer broke down. The fan is not doing much by blowing pretty much the same air around. But my heart says that I am happy and glad as I stepped into the new year. I decided to start writing blog so friends can catch up on what I do and so I can reflect back upon my life whenever the need arises.

There is so much things I feel like doing. For one, I want to focus and align my goals in architectural studies towards architecture for disaster relief. I looked up architecture for disaster relief and this organisation Emergency Architects Australia comes into view. They are a not-for-profit international organisation, started in France and currently having 3 branches; France, Canada and Australia. I certainly feel that architects are needed in the areas where natural disasters strike to help to rebuild the community.

And the next thing I want to do is to learn guitar. Hah. My poor guitar has been lying next to my bed back in my hometown for so many years! I never really get to learn it as I flew off to Australia and my friends back then were busy with their studies too. Well, I am going to bring it over and get some spare strings as well.

I also want to get healthier. (Ah hem....staying up late typing blog is not exactly healthy ok?) Ya, I get it. =p Well, to be healthier, I got to sleep earlier and sleep regularly, especially before the design madness kicks in for the brand new year and the crazy design unit starts.

Hm...I miss Malaysian food a lot, especially Miri food! Mee kolo man! I am going to have that as my first meal in Miri when I go back for Chinese New Year. I am so so so so looking forward to finish my enrolment and get my visa so I can go back and relax with nice food and familiar sound of family around. And surely, I miss my friends back home as well, so I can meet up with them and just chat and catch up.

Wow. 2.25. Better get sleeping soon so can start my healthy plan >.^
